Tutorial: How to make an elegant square style envelope!

Hello everyone!

I hope your week is going well:)

One of my passions in paper crafting has been designing party invites and announcements for family events. I'm currently working on a Wedding set for a client in Los Angeles who is getting married in February 2015. I've already finished up her "Save the Date" announcements and have started on her invitations. Along with the wedding invites I'm designing RSVP cards in a postcard style that will accompany the wedding invite in a handmade envelope made from a coordinating cardstock. One of the best cardstocks out there on the market are made by American Crafts hands down, so I used "vanilla" which is a cream toned and is a textured cardstock!

I decided to go with a square styled envelope instead of a triangular style which is where all the pointed ends of the cardstock come together, I felt the square style had such a classy look and it was a perfect fit for this event.

I decided to share my process in a video in hopes that it will help anyone to make this style of envelope who hasn't made one and would like to give it a try.

Here's my process vid. If you have any questions please feel free to leave me a comment below! Enjoy:)

Romantic Prima Metal Frame!

Hello friends!

I altered this frame by Prima a while ago, it's a little late but I'm glad to be able to finally share it!

This is what the frame looks like when you first buy it....
It's 12 1/2" tall and 6 1/4" wide. The depth of the box itself is about 1 1/2", not too bad to add some little pieces to cute up the inside!

I purchased my frame from my buddy Laurie, you can find her on FB, YouTube and ArtFire under "Moore Art from the Heart"! She's on blogger and Pinterest too, but you can find the links on any of her other social network linked here:)

I decided to use Prima's Stationer's Desk for this project as I feel has such a beautiful romantic look and feel! I decided to also make a video of the intro and the process for those who like to watch while projects are being made, here's the video....

Thanks for watching and stopping by, I really appreciate that you've stopped in. Here are some pictures of this project. Please leave me a comment and follow me here, FB and subscribe on youtube! There are several other links to my SM sites above!

Make your own tool for placing tiny embellishments!!

Hello again!

As I was making these cute little "Tiffany & Co" baby shower invites I started to add on these rhinestones, they were self adhesive

(There's a full post and more pics in the previous post)
but I didn't like that I had to cut them up and that when I did there was a little bit of it showing...I didn't like how they looked. They were all on a row of adhesive and in order to use one, you needed to cut them off of the glue strip, so I picked all the rhinestones off leaving them with no adhesive. I would have to stick them down myself, I was fine with that but then, how to pick them up and stick them down???......So I came up with my own little tool!

Here is my video, enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please visit my shop, thejuleboxshop.com

Accucut Onsie "Tiffany & Co." Baby Shower invitation!

Hello bloggers!

It's been a little while since I've posted a project. It's been a super busy year and 1/2 for me and my family. Lots of life changing things, it's been a blessing although hard but we know there's a plan in place!

One of the many things I've been doing to stay busy lately has been creating shower, birthday and wedding announcements and invitations! I've got several yet to post but I'll share this one today! You can see some of the invites I've already made in the past going here.

I've got an Accucut die of the Onsie shape and it's the Pinnovation die which is awesome to help to place your sheet of paper down and the pins hold it in place so that you can use a Microsoft Word template to add your text and cut so it shows up in the die cut shape! It's AWESOME!!!  So, this is what I used for my nephew and his fiances baby shower invite. She saw one online and asked if I can make it just like it, so of course I did! This was my gift to them and this is what it looks like!

Here's my video where I introduce the invites:)

She chose a gorgeous tiffany blue color, it's actually called "Pool" and is an American Crafts textured brand cardstock called "Weave"!! I did LOVE the "Powder Blue" but of course....I had to use what Monique wanted! :) lol...  All 3 are very pretty!

I had 12"x12" AC cardstock, cut 50 sheets down to 8 1/2"x11" then I downloaded the Onsie A7 template from the Accucut website and typed out all the info, printed them all out (2 per sheet), set them on the die between the pins and cut them up....then viola!!! INVITES!!

I bought some white satin ribbon (double sided) and made 100 tiny bows and 3 packs of crystal bling for the snaps then....

I loved the font they chose, (Lucinda Calligraphy) it was a perfect fit!! I was so happy and proud that they all loved them!! All 100 of them!!!! I always make one extra and seal it so that mama or bride can add it to their keepsake box or baby book! I think it's important to make sure they also feel special! I also had a few 12x12's left and edge punched them for table settings and used my heart and butterfly punches to punch out from the scraps I had left....they've used it to gently toss the bits of confetti onto the tables for extra decor! If I had more time I would'v made a banner and other things! Maybe for the next baby:)

This is one of my favorite invites to date! Now whenever they set a date for their weeding I'll be expecting them to call and say, "Tia, would you make our wedding invitations"!! I'll be super excited to make them too!!

Thanks for stopping by friends!

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss any custom work you'd like for your next party or event! I would be happy to chat details with you! Email is located in the navigation bar!

Have a great crafty day!

25% OFF Storewide SALE!!!

Hello friends!

Just a quick announcement for you today!!

From August 1st through August 4th 2014 (Friday-Monday), I will be having a store wide sale! EVERYTHING at The Jule Box Shop (except the destash listing, reminder, I'm taking offers on some of these items) will be 25% off!!!

Most of you know that I set up my shop a little different than other online stores where I bill separately for shipping so for this sale, the way it will work is this:

~You place your order, the discount will not show up at the end, then your order comes through to me. I will then deduct the 25% (for example if your order is $100, 25% off of that is $25), package your order and figure the shipping cost. I'll then deduct the shipping fee from that 25% savings and paypal you the difference the day it ships!! You do nothing but buy your goodies.

Rarely does this happen but if your shipping fee is more than what you saved I WILL be emailing you the difference via paypal to the email address on the order! Orders from this sale will begin to ship the middle of next week.

I'm making room for new product so please stop by TJBS and take advantage of the savings!!

US and INTERNATIONAL friends are welcome!!!

Please stop by TJBS FB page and click the "LIKE" button....keep you in the loop for special sales announcements and giveaways!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Super Simple Shabby Pots!

Hello Blog world!!

Some of you might know that I've recently moved and sadly I'm not all done unpacking! I think it's because I know we're not gonna be here forever....but anyhow, I want to make this place as homey and as comfortable as I can!

I'm in love with plants and flowers and I just purchased an"African Violet" and I wanted to display it on my coffee table in a terracotta pot along with a little succulent I bought a few days prior! So I bought a couple of terracotta pots with saucers and wanted to give them a shabby look!!

Here's my video, enjoy:

Here are some more detailed close-up pics!

There weren't many Terracotta pots at my Walmart, I assume it's because it's mid Summer and the "gardening" season is about over. I assume there won't be many at the Home Improvement stores either, but if you find some, give this a try, it's so easy and so pretty!!

For Prima embellishments like these numeral plaques called "Door Signs" you can find a huge variety at my shop, thejuleboxshop.com! Here's the listing to find these!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your Summer!!

My projects, Happy Easter and Happy Birthday Big Bro!!

Hello and how are you??

I've missed you guys....seriously, this is totally for the birds! I don't even really know what that means! LOL ;)  but seriously...I miss you people....ma' peeps!! I miss crafting and posting stuffs and reading your comments and blogs and stuffs.....and watching your videos.....I have tried to watch a few here and there:)

Guess what? I have a cool thing happening soon that I will (with an announcer's voice as if announcing a super hero swooshing through) "SOON REVEAL"! hahaha....no but really....I was offered a cool opportunity and I'm in the middle of the set-up process now! I CANNOT wait to announce it and share! But until then..."zipp-os on the lip-os"!

So, what have I been doing? Still unpacking...yes, really....look, this isn't the way I hoped it would go. Things were supposed to have a home already and they don't yet. My thought was to set up shop as soon as we moved in but instead my sweet hubby talked me into refurnishing some of my furniture (it has nothing to do with the fact that I've been saying, "Honey, I think I want to paint that .....!" like a billion times over the last year or so!!)....not just 1 but a few, so, I did.  I started a series of videos on them, I'll share them as soon as I can. I have a few things to do first.....like revamp some of my blog shop listings and finish up on some Mickey Mouse invitations I'm making for my cutie patootie great nephew Mikey! His my brother's daughter (my niece) little boy. It's his 1st B-day on May 6th!!! Look at this face! Ah!!! He cracks me up!!!!:)

It's a little blurry but this picture was taken about a month ago. Lisa (my sister, his "grannie"...lol ) took it and I'm in love with this picture! LOL I LOVE you Mikey! MUAH!!!

But the furniture....here's one I've redone already! This is a small book shelf that I got at an antique show in the Fall of 2013. I painted it a distressed pink and I added some decorative moulding to the edges of the shelves and added a really cute wood applique I found at Hobby Lobby in the center of the top part of the backing! I'll share soon!!

So, what happened? I started redoing all this furniture and it's taking longer that I thought it would so I'm a little behind in the unpacking process. You guys should see my house....well, no actually you shouldn't....it's still full of boxes and looks a mess right now! At least my bed is assembled and I can sleep in that with all my comfy pillows and blankets! LOL...which is a good thing because I think I would go insane!!

I wanted a homey kinda settled in look somewhere, somehow....so, I created a cute display of glass and metal vintage boxes on the top of my hutch! Wanna see it? I thought of red and yellow. Tell me what you think!!

The HUGE glass container on the left is a drink dispenser with a lid and spout! I had it in a box forever!! It just hit me to get it out and display it! I bought a white towel with a red stripe along the edges from IKEA in February and laid that down under the cans and a cute wire teapot I got at a garage sale I put wine corks in!! The cans are from Antique shops and yard sales that I collected over the last 3-4 years. The "Mariposa" jar is ceramic and the colors started the whole display idea! The glass bottles and vases gave a nice look for one side then the cans on the other. In between it all are some plastic flowers and greenery I had in a floral storage box in the garage and in my scraproom. I love it and it feels more like home to me now!

Anyways, this is a little of what I've been doing. I'll be busy for a while yet but I will be optimistic about it all, it's a new chapter and full of some good drama! :) It's all good though because it's all a huge blessing!

Well, back to work on the blog shop and invites. That's all for today but I wanted to wish you a very Happy Easter with your family and I want to send out a shout out to my big brother Danny who is celebrating his B-Day this weekend too!! "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY!!!!" This was taken last year when my hubby and I took him out to eat a great lobster dinner! He looks happy right!? :)

See you guys soon!

 Love ya'll!!
