New Postage rates for 2013!

Hello everyone,

Just a quick notice to let you all know..customer or not....As of January 27th the postage increase starts! :( booooooo!

Anyhow, I will continue to try and make my shipping fees as low as possible. As you all who purchase online know...this is the evil of online shopping and can get costly if companies are not at least trying to make it better for their customers in one way or another....especially for International customers...it's outrageous what it costs to ship across the pond already! :(

I've been asked in the past if I could do a special like "Free Shipping on any $50 purchase"...or something like this.

Here are my thoughts on this....

I really wish I could do this and keep my prices on products low....but I really feel that for retailers, it's either one or the other because we are still trying to gain an income as this is our job and source of income. We either keep costs of products down or cost on shipping down, but realistically we cannot do both.

I also have been a victim of online stores over charging for shipping. I can understand a difference of cents, but several dollars.....that's not right!! So to answer the question I started with...."Can you run a special like..."
I have found it better to price my products under retail (many of you have emailed me to tell me you've done comparisons and found this true) and then send off the shipping invoice separately. I think it's better to wait for an order, package it up, weigh it then gathering the correct shipping cost info to charge it more accurately to you that way you get the savings on both ends.....to an extent, but it's better than nothing I think right?

I hope you all understand that I cannot control what the USPS does, I wish. They increase the cost of postage every year! ugh!!!

Well, this is all I wanted to mention to you all. I hope it makes sense and that you'll come back to "The Jule Box" shop soon! I hope to increase my inventory with great new releases and with great prices!! See ya soon!

Thanks so much!! Hugs!!!

Shabby "Winter Angel Dressform"!

Hello everyone!

Just FYI....this is an edited post...I had it almost ready to go last month but because of my accident (I mentioned on FB), I could not sit long enough to work on it....I couldn't even finish the video editing (still need to rest)...but I did have this project done and now, after working on it a little at a time, I can finally share it! Thank you Lord!:)

Ok, so last month's (December) Wild Orchid Crafts DT challenge was a Christmas or HOME Decor Ornament!! One night...thinking of what to make, it hit me...."ah... dressform with wings, like an angel...hmm, that would be cute!!!..in a shabby style so it can be displayed all year long!!" So off I go to my studio and started looking for what to use....so I came up with this!

I used the die cuts from my Accucut die cut (for the "Fancy Mini Topnote") and Tim Holtz die cut (for the Wings and Dressform) listings! Please visit, I've posted a few new ones on both! :)

Oh yes!!!....I added 1/2"- 1" wide strips of lace trim and seam binding and made her a skirt!! How girly is this!!?? I think very! :)

So here's my intro video sharing how I put it together followed by the video tutorial! Enjoy!

Here are more photos and some close ups!

The paper I used is from
Melissa Frances' "C'est la vie" 6x6 paper pad,
you can see the delicate print of angels and cherubs
in pink with a cream background? Beautiful right!?

Wild Orchid Crafts is an online family owned business whose main goal is to provide first, the best customer service possible (which they do), then to provide the best prices and availability as possible!

clean lined/contemporary and elegant projects
(just all the way around and back) that you can create!
I hope you'll stop by and visit the site, Youtube channel,
FB page and DT blog (oh and now...Pinterest!!!!!) to get
yourself some inspiration from designers spread out around the
globe and get some beautiful goodies to start creating
for so many of the great new releases coming out this 2013!!

To get some of the WOC items I used in this project,
check out the list below!

10~Creamy colored Seam binding
(the "Cream" I used in not available..

it....but you can use any color that best
goes with your project, as you can
see there are quite a few colors to choose from!)
13~The White flat lace I used is not available,
but I would use this Flat white Raschel lace in place of it.
14~ In place of another white cotton lace I used
in my project, this is another one I would used
"White Guipure Lace" which is a new release and
is so gorgeous!!!!
15~ I used a silk ribbon to hang my angel from.

Prima's "Nature Garden" Birthday Card!

Hey there!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to 2013!!

Today I'm finally able to share Anna's Birthday card! If you were here visiting in the last post you probably already know that Anna had her 18th Birthday Party last month! In the business of things and having some issues I ran behind in posting, but I finally can share this card with you all today! I ended up creating a replica of the original card because I had lost several video clips of Anna's card. I made a few changes to it to make it just a little bit different, but the layout is the same and the materials used are also the same.

Here's a picture of Anna's card with the replica...

I love Anna's card! I really love the look of it...aaaand, this design can be used for a Valentines Day card for mom or a sister...girlfriend....whoever you want!! Sweet!!
I like to add a writing area on the inside of my cards.....since Dad and I had already added our sentiments on the inside of Anna's I'll share the inside of the replica card! :)

Enjoy the video with a tutorial!
