"Happy Birthday to you" Card!

Hello everyone!

I love using scraps, they are perfect for cards and can add tons of color, so much versatility and the cool thing is that you can have tons of fun....let your creativity flow!

I really can't tell you how much anxiety I used to have when making a card. I could have stayed away from them but I decided that if I was gonna get any good at making cards that I was satisfied with, I had to dive in!

A while back I had an assignment to create a card and a couple of layouts using a new paper company (Authentique), so like any project I had some left over pieces. Then I used a lot of Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, bronze/gold filigree butterfly, seam binding and pearls sprays to embellish it and was happy with it, looks whimsy with a twist of shab! I love it!

I apologize for no video....just couldn't, but here are the pics for it! The card was for my friend Aliscia....a little late, but still:)

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope this card was of inspiration for you:) If you want to know what supplies I used, please leave a comment and or questions in the comments section below. If you need me to respond, please leave me your email address or email me!

Have a great day! xo, Jules:)

3 Projects using a "My Minds Eye" collection!

Hello and thanks for stopping in!

I want to share these projects with you guys because I was so ansy to make a special gift for my friend Misty.....projects made with her adorable baby girl Hailey!! I only had 5 sheets of designer paper and I am amazed that 3 projects came from it!! So here we go.....

I had purchased MME "Lime Twist" with my friend in mind. She loves cupcakes and these colors were perfect. I thought to make 1 LO at first but I could not stop....finally I ran out of paper and had to stop....well, 3 projects later!! But I love them all!  I used Authentique's bi-fold paper card stock for the base of the LO and the dress on the name banner. Also used my fav flowers and embellishments form Wild Orchid Crafts! I have a list at the end of this post of items used!

I will start with what I made first, the LO! This was the only project I was gonna make, but I'm glad I got the most out of what I bought!

~12x12 canvas LO, painted in pink and covered with MME paper....then added a bunch of little stuff including my favorite thing right now...the banner at the top!!

Then I wanted to make a stand up frame, so I made an 8x8 LO and added some chipboard on the back to have it stand on it's own! Using my Accucut die (Accucut cupcake die sets for sale here) with the cupcake....I cut one out to use as a dimensional photo matte!!

This is what the back side looks like! My first one so the glue is a little.....not so pretty, but I will be perfecting my method as I go:)

The name Banner with Haily's name on it was a bonus for me to make!! She is so adorable and such an inspiration....I felt the banner would complete this gift set!

The cupcake card I made in the last post is for the mom of Hailey, Misty!!
Hope she likes the gifts I made! :)

Here is the video sharing all of what I did to make these.

Accucut -Sweet Treat card!

Hey guys!

I wanted to share a cute cupcake card I made for a friend of mine! She LOVES cupcakes:p

Using my Accucut "Sweet Treats" die, I cut the card base and then from designer paper from DCWV's, "The Sweet Stack". I put this card together! Adding some pearly lace trim to mimic frosting.....yum....some small flat back pearls and a "Just Because" sentiment from the $1 bin at Micheals....it came together!

I had a problem at first though with cutting the base of the card from the larger cupcake. So, to get the maximum card stock for it, I turned my 12x12 white card stock and folded it diagonally from corner to corner and was able to gain an additional 1/2" for the card base!!!

So, here is my card and the video tutorial at the end!

Thanks and enjoy!

I love how the card came out...didn't need anything else in my eyes! :)

Here is the tip/tut sharing what I had to do to fix my problem!

Thanks so much for stopping in! xo, Jules:)

Vintage Grungy Tag, "Dream"!

Hello everyone!

This is my first Design Team challenge for the month of August for Wild Orchid Crafts!! I'm excited that I finished it on day 4 of the month!! I say that because I can run pretty late with things...just so much to juggle, but!!!...it is finished!

So, the challenge was to create a large tag that showed our style!! I have different styles so that was hard to choose for this challenge. You can find the design teams projects on the Wild Orchid Crafts YouTube channel here!!

Now this tag is not extravagant, I made it with a pretty basic design.....lace/trim along the bottom, flowers in a corner, a charm and sentiment, then lace/ribbon/fibers, through the top hole...maybe some bling! I love it though...you can totally make this if your not a tag maker!

The tag measures at 6"x3" and I used a manila tag, covered it with the bag print and backed it with medium weight chipboard.....you can watch the video where I share what I used and what I did below the pics....no tut, but I can make one if there are requests for a tutorial, no prob!

~I really love the color combination....the pops of red, gorgeous!

~I love the raffia, it is nice and wide and soft.....use it as ribbon, so easy!!
~I wanted to show the shimmers of gold from the spray! I used it all over this tag! :)
~Wild Orchid Crafts has seam binding in every color!!!! I only have 3 right now....and they were colors that I didn't have for this project, so I colored them and crinkled them and heat dried them!! They take shimmer sprays and heat really well...and crinkle almost too good! Anyhow, I love the tattered look they have now!
